Hey guys, it’s been some time. As you may have noticed if you’re here, we’re now shikkakutranslation.org. Yay!! That also means that you’ll see some ads here and there on the site as well. Now if you can, please consider whitelisting the site on your adblock if you are using one as that’d be very helpful towards me and my translations. I mainly opted to start this to further motivate myself to translate more and because, well, why not? 😛 If you feel like contributing towards me, you can also pause your adblock for a few minutes, click a few links and then resume adblock again. You should know how these things work after all XP. Seriously, that’d be very helpful. I’m using WordAds so the risk of malicious links is almost nil as well.
Now onto the more important stuff, I have been thinking of picking up a new WN to translate for quite a lot of time and have been looking for prospective new novels. One such I’m very interested in is Tower of Karma.
Here’s a synopsis by skythewood.-
“This world isn’t fair.
While there are people who drink fine from golden cup, there are people who drink dirty puddle that people have stepped on. While there are people who adorn themselves with fines and warmest fur coats, there are people who only wear hagged rags.
This world isn’t happiness.
From the moment of birth, one’s social status is decided. Rich child, poor child, child of a noble, child of a farmer, child of a slave. If born a slave, it’s impossible to climb up.
This world is cruel.
One man’s happiness is another’s misery. People fight over limited resources and die in the end. Life is dancing on top of corpses. Go insane, go eat, go take what you want, go kill.
This world is hell.
The one who has everything taken away, the “White Vengeance” will smash the world. Eat as you please, pillage as you please, kill and take everything for yourself. This story is about a struggle of the person born at the bottom, and a tragedy as well as a comedy of the one aiming for the top. Pity him and laugh at him. But the white man will only build up his Tower of Karma as his desires dictates.
Let us see how high his Tower of Karma will be when the story is over.”
It is a very dark, brutal novel, almost Xianxia level but without the over-the-top plot-armor filled fantasy-stupidity that chinese novels sometimes have and is very well written.
However, I’m also open to other suggestions, so if you want to see a novel translated that you found in some forums, reddit etc and is not being worked on by some other Tler, leave it in the comments. If I get lots of recommendations I like as well (extra points if it has not very long ass chapters like KENS XD), I’ll put up a poll for you guys to decide which novel I will start.
As for the next KENS chapter, I am a bit late due to shitload of assignments that I had to submit and I was very close to the deadline, but it’ll come by tomorrow most probably. It’s a pretty big chapter as usual as well.
Goodjob, and give yourself a pat on the back if you kept on reading this long-ass rant till now lol.
See ya!

I was just about to suggest that. It’s a good novel and it seems like the guy translating it must of been run over by truck-sama or something. I tried google translate but looking at the awkward mess made me want to puke. I too would like to see Sword Saint’s Disciple continued.

How about dungeon harem master? idk if the chapters are “long” or just right for you.
Or, Unborn (yeah that’s a jap WN).. it’s about a guy named skyler who tames a platinum dragon that’s considered the “strongest”
Or, We Dwell at the Foot of the Dragon’s Peak (Ryuu Hou Sun de i masu), WatDaMeow “was” translating this but went to play VNs or something idk.

Isekai Tensei Soudouki… please 😀
Balud Cornelius is the son of a noble of the Mauricia kingdom and inside him also dwell the souls of the niggardly warring states commander Oka Sadatoshi and animal ear otaku high schooler Oka Masaharu. With these 3 souls in a single body, he can exhibit extraordinary abilities when it comes to combat or managing the domain.

Sometimes it gets boring to continuously TL the same novel especially when every chapter is as long as KENS has. So its better to keep changing between 2 novels so that I dont get burned out.

Rakuin no Monshou (烙印の紋章), “Emblem of the Branded”, is a light novel series written by Tomonori Sugihara (杉原智則) and illustrated by 3. The series is published by ASCII Media Works under the Dengeki Bunko label and is completed with 12 volumes.
Story Synopsis from Baka-Tsuki
The countries of Mephius and Garbera have been waging a war for ten years and are trying to put an end to this long fight through a political marriage between the two royal families. Orba, who was driven from his home because of the war and was forced to become a gladiator, looks exactly like the crown prince of Mephius, and it has been decided he will be substituting him during the wedding ceremony. On the other hand, Vileena, the princess of Garbera, has secretly decided to ensnare the crown prince for her own country’s interests.
Honestly, this is one of my favorite light novel series. The only reasons I can think of for it to not be a massively popular, multi-adaptation series is because it was started before the light novel craze began and that it takes the first third/half of the initial novel to set up the story. Once it gets started though it contains political intrigue at the highest level, small and large scale combat action, and the darker part of human emotions. This is a story about seeking revenge, second chance at life, and how one person can affect the world.
Unfortunately, it has been translated both slowly and inconsistently. The Baka-Tsuki thread has not been updated in six months now so I believe it has been abandoned. Tower of Karma has sounded very interesting since I first read the synopsis at SkyTheWood but I hope that you will give Rakuin no Monshou at least a read if not a chance. Your translations are amazing and would provide this series a truly fitting translation. I cannot read Japanese at all and am technologically challenged but I have achieved two semesters of college English with A’s. Therefore, if needed I am willing to assist in editing, proofreading, and/or anything else to help out this translation.

How about Elvenblood. It used to be translated at Krytyk’s translations but it was dropped because it was dark. It’s about a war between humans and elves and a boy trying to get revenge on elves with the help of a childhood elf friend. The main character is pretty twisted and if the chapters are too long you could always seperate it into 2-3 parts.
