I am the only one worthy of ruling this country!
*Wilhelm Von Svalier POV*
“Hurry up! The Fahlcrantz army is almost here already!”
In a hurry, I quickly barked orders at my soldiers.
For the oncoming decisive clash with the Fahlcrantz army……….no, with Rudolf Fürst Baldyk.
Still…….when I didn’t get the usual report from Anne, I was right to trust my intuition and run from the capital instantly.
I never thought that woman was the type to open her mouth that easily but, even so, once a few days passed, withdrawal symptoms were bound to start showing up on her, and they’d find out that she had been made over-dependent on drugs.
When that happens, they would also find out that the Svalier family had involved themselves in trafficking prohibited drugs as well.
“……….no, they did find out all that so quickly, which is probably why the Fahlcrantz army is closing in on us I suppose.”
According to our scouts, they were going to enter the Svalier territory tomorrow morning at the earliest.
Considering the numbers in their army, I think they found out everything in about three…..no, maybe two days.
And on top of that, Oscar seems to have cut me off as well.
If not, he would have done something to stall Rudolf and Marquis Fahlcrantz in the Imperial Palace as well.
“Well, whatever. From the start, I didn’t have any expectations from that man.”
Me and Oscar only joined hands because our interests had aligned, that’s all.
That man, only wanted to use me so that he could eradicate those with Imperial blood…….specifically those with amber eyes and nothing more, and I too wanted to use him to destroy that man……destroy Rudolf.
And also.
“………I’ll be counting on you, Lady Nikita.”
“fufu………please, leave it to me, Lord Wilhelm.”
I have the Rujia Empire backing me.
For many years, my father Yoran Von Svalier had been making deals with them in secret, all for the sake of stealing back the Baldyk Empire.
And right now, the Rujia mercenaries currently restlessly working to get ready were the same.
All this is a fruit of all the work we did to gather funds to hire mercenaries when the time comes to fight the Empire.
That said, most of the money came from the profits of the Apium trade though.
Who knows how many people destroyed their lives after getting addicted to Apium. Not that I care about any of them.
It wasn’t me that did the drug deals anyway. It was Yoran after all.
And not to mention, in the end they gave their lives for the sake of the Empire……no, for the sake of the new country that will rise in my name. If anything it should be an honour to become a cornerstone of my future country.
“Hey, don’t you think so too?”
“ughh……….”
I tried to get the opinion of Yoran who was laying on the ground but, he was already broken so I didn’t get any response.
Hmph…….I wonder if he’s living his long cherished dream of usurping the throne while under the affects of the very same Apium that he himself spread inside these lands.
But still, as expected of 100% pure Apium. Just three small vials alone was enough to utterly ruin and cripple a man huh.
“Lady Nikita, once I have this entire country in my palms, I promise I will pledge allegiance to the Rujia Empire.”
“I’m sure your words will make my master, her majesty Anastasia Petrovna Rujia, very happy as well.”
Yes……..by presenting this country as a gift, I was able to gain the cooperation of the Rujia empire.
At first, it was only the Apium trade that kept this connection going but, the only reason why we gained this outward support from them as well was all thanks to my negotiations.
It was not something this greedy trash would have ever been able to do.
This itself was proof that I was man chosen by God.
Yes me, and most certainly not that Rudolf…….not that ‘dirty pig’.
“Kuhahaha! Don’t you think so too? If only you had sent me to the other side from the start, this wouldn’t have had to happen!”
“*cough*…….ugh, aaghh………….”
I kicked him in the stomach with full strength but, perhaps he couldn’t even feel pain as Yoran simply vomited on the floor, and showed no other reaction. Seriously, what a boring man.
But…….that’s right. If I had been on the other side from the start, I would have already killed them all and become the Emperor.
We wouldn’t even have needed to borrow Rujia’s help, and I wouldn’t have needed to create my own country from scratch either.
“Seriously! Everything! Is your fault!! Because of you, I…..I was…….!!!”
“ah, ghuu, ughee…………”
I kept on kicking, and with every kick he leaked a strange groan but, soon Yoran stopped moving entirely.
Well, maybe he just fell asleep as always.
It was then.
“Lord Wilhelm! The Fahlcrantz army has appeared on the western front, near Oulu. Their army is around 5000 strong!”
“! There finally here!”
Kuhaha…….but still, to think they really did come with just the 5000 that was reported beforehand.
I’m glad they were fooled that easily.
“Alright! Send the signal to the 7000 Rujia soldiers to move in from the borders and circle them from Oulu’s side as well! We’ll use our 1000 to set up a defensive here in Vander and lure them in meanwhile, they’ll use that chance to attack from behind!”
“Sir!”
Accepting my orders, the soldier quickly left the place.
“Lady Nikita. I’ll be counting on you.”
“Of course. Once we kill the ‘Obsidian War Demon’, no one in the Empire would be able to stand against our might. This is truly the perfect chance.”
Nikita planted a kiss on my cheek and then left the room as well.
“Come now………Rudolf. It’s time to settle things. We’ll find out soon enough who’s truly worthy of ruling this country.”
I stared in the direction of Oulu, as the corners of my lips rose in a smile.
