Reincarnated as an Infamous Tyrant Prince Ch15

Huh? This is quite different from history though?

“Lizbeth……..”

“”!?!””

A young man with blazing red hair and amber eyes entered the room.

Of course, I knew exactly who that man was.

Yes…….he was indeed the protagonist of the story that I read so many times in my previous life. The man that birthed the Svalier Kingdom.

——–Wilhelm Von Svalier.

As I thought, he was connected to Lizbeth after all.

If not, she wouldn’t know where Lizbeth’s room was, and above all, he wouldn’t dare come inside her room so casually either.

In the end, our engagement was nothing but forced upon her due to the emperor’s orders, and she possibly just playing all with me as a joke I guess.

However.

“………Why are you at our mansion, and how dare you enter my room without even waiting for my permission?”

Lizbeth frowned, and sent a death glare towards Wilhelm.

Her expression made it seem like she was actually furious, and full of hate.

“What’s the matter Lizbeth? These past few months you didn’t reply to any of my letters. And when you finally did it was simply [Never show your face to me again], just that. Of course, I got worried and came here.”

“Oh so you do seem to understand then. The, immediately leave this place.”

In contrast to Wilhelm who seemed to be making a worried expression, Lizbeth  was curt and to the point.

Hmmm? Weren’t these two supposed to be madly in love? But right now, it feels more like Lizbeth sees Wilhelm as her enemy instead though?

“Wait a moment. Weren’t you and me connected through fate since we were children? Then why…..”

“You and me? Connected by fate? Please, don’t make me laugh. I do not recall being acquainted with a conman that excels only in falsehoods.”

“!?!”

Ah……..I feel like I’m starting to understand the situation a bit more.

Looks like this guy tried to deceive Lizbeth.

All I can think of, is that Wilhelm probably had an affair behind her back or something.

As per history, he certainly had a bunch of concubines as well, and even in the [War Records of Wilhelm], there were a bunch of episodes about him laying hands on different women everytime he went to the front lines as well…….

“Anyway, today my dear fiancé, Prince Rudolf is here as well. I’ve had enough of your farce, so disappear out of my sights immediately……..”

“Wait. What do you mean Fiancé?”

“Did you not hear? Three months ago, I got engaged. Unlike a man like yourself, I have chosen the far more sincere and honest Prince Rudolf instead.”

Can you not drag me into this if possible?

Wilhelm’s suddenly glaring at me with hate because of this now.

“And above all, when I sent my servant to you with that letter, you received that as well right? The reward for defiling my precious memory?”

“………………………”

Her [precious memory] was probably the same as the one that was written about in the [War Records of Wilhelm] as well.

After I attempted to hurt Lizbeth in the garden of the imperial palace, Wilhelm protected her from me after which she gave him a brooch and then exchanged a promise with each other to meet again.

Thinking now, let alone having a memory of doing anything like that to her, I don’t even recall ever even meeting her before our engagement meeting.

I think, in order to further glorify the relationship between Wilhelm and Lizbeth, the history tellers of the future made that stuff up. What a nuisance for me to be treated as such an utter villain however.

“Fufu……….even now, I feel like laughing just thinking about it. After handing you the letter, my servant asked you about what I had handed you on that day correct? But, after thinking for a long, long while, the answer you decided upon was – a [brooch] of all things?”

“…………………………”

Lizbeth simply chuckled to herself, as if mocking him, making Wilhelm bite his lip as it seemed to have hit a sore spot.

But……. the episode of the [War Records of Wilhelm], by the looks of it, was indeed nothing more than a fabrication and nothing more.

That said, judging by her excessive anger and derision towards him, I fell like the episode itself wasn’t a lie in and of itself………I think.

Could it be, that her memory in fact involved someone else and not Wilhelm in that case?

And it seems, that memory is truly precious to Lizbeth.

Of course, I could totally empathize with her. I knew that feeling all too well as well, after all.

Because, I too have a similar memory, and that memory alone has helped me maintain my sanity until now.

While staring at Lizbeth, I put my hand in my pocket and tightly gripped the gold coin inside of it.

It was then–

“If you seem to have failed to understand the letter, then allow me to speak plainly and directly. Get out of my sights, and never show yourself in front of me ever again.”

“!!………..I will, take my leave for now. Also,……..here, a present, for your birthday.”

“I do not need it.”

When Wilhelm tried to hand her the present, she simply waved her hand and rejected it.

Hit with that, Wilhelm simply turned to angrily glare at me again, and then quietly left the room.

“……….Prince Rudolf, my deepest apologies, for making you endure this farce.”

Saying that, Lizbeth gave a deep and sincere bow apologetically.

In her cold yet dignified Aquamarine eyes, I could see that behind her anger towards Wilhelm, there was also a tinge of anxiety as well.

‘connected by fate’ – I’m guessing he is really is reincarnated (from the future), and knowing the stories he presumed she loved him from the start.

‘deceit’ – Perhaps he tried to tell her about their future, and she understandably believed it to be a lie? Or he described past events based upon future knowledge rather than faded personal memories, and she called him out for the discrepancies? After all, the three are 14 / 15 years old, (and he is not even engaged to her,) so it does not make much sense for the ‘deception’ to refer to him cheating.

‘a brooch of all things’ – This is all but solid proof that he was speaking from memories of the War Records, which was written in the future. But…

Here is a new idea: what if their future memories influenced their past behaviors, before they regained them? What if in the original timeline Rupert acted differently – and did assault her in the garden? But in this timeline, where his memories – though not recalled – affected his past behavior, instead of assaulting her they shared the pleasant memory in which she gave him the gold coin. And because of this meeting she was late to meeting Wilhelm. Likewise, because the MC was not present at that meeting (having already met her), her entire first meeting with Wilhelm was different, and what was given to him at that time was also different.

But from the sounds of it, she *had* initially treasured her first meeting with Wilhelm. Why else would she feel so insulted at him getting a major detail of the meeting wrong (the brooch). So my other idea (that their roles were reversed: Wilhelm assaulting her and Rudolf defending her) does not make sense. In any case, despite regaining past / future memories, Rudolf does not recall such an event while he does recall receiving the gold coin. So unless there is yet another person involved, then the assault did not occur in this timeline.

So my idea is that both Rudolf and Wilhelm have memories from the future. But while both only recently recalled those memories (likely within the last half year even for Wilhelm, given it seems only recently that she had a falling out with him), even before the recollection they were influenced by those memories (or at least by their prior personalities) – to the point of acting somewhat differently during certain past events. Most of the time it made little difference, but there were a least a couple key events involving Lizbet (a prominent character in the War Records) that were notably different.

Ok so this chapter I think cleared a lot up. She had a memory of a boy from her childhood who she gave the coin to and has always been searching for him, the hero clearly had her convinced it was him, likely using future knowledge of that meeting to convince her, but when Maya saw the coin and reported it to her she tested him by asking what she had given him and when he said “a brooch” she immediately regarded him as “that thing” and hated him for manipulating her and defiling her precious memory.

I’m curious why he had to think for so long before answering since he clearly knows the book as well and the brooch would have been like the second most important part of that meeting.
However I think you nailed the reincarnation timeline. I think it was always a coin and never a brooch, since she seems to have already bought the story that it was the hero and never inquired about the item, the hero, knowing the future book, always assumed it was a brooch and therefor wrote it in said book he used as a reference before reincarnating, closing the paradox.

What I’m wondering now is the same, did the assault even happen? If it did I can see how the hero might have flipped the roles and made her think he saved her but it’s weird MC doesn’t recall. He says he doesn’t remember ever even meeting her before but he clearly has the coin and must have met her previously. But if he’s remembering everything through the lense of the book, where he’s trying to remember an assault that never happened, it makes sense he’d never connect the dots to her. He even says his memory of when he received the coin is similar to hers but it must be just different enough that he misses the connection.

I don’t agree with the idea that the prince actually assaulted her in the original timeline resulting in the brooch being given and that it changed when MC reincarnated but only based on the fact that he already had the coin by the time he was poisoned, and that as far as the Hero knew it WAS a brooch and that she, for whatever reason, had never and maybe would never have confirmed it with him had the reincarnated prince not gotten rid of the corrupt maid and kept Maya close, something that the original prince wouldn’t have done.

      I’m excited to find out.

Nah, more likely that hero knew of the incident from a spy or something and used that to his advantage in getting her to like/accept him. & explains why “hero” had to think before saying brooch.
      — Or something like stalked her and saw that incident, but don’t know the given item. Would explain why Prince was included in the book event.

In the written work, Ice never found out, thus the reason for killing Prince, thinking he took her from her intended. The old Prince likely knew she was the one that gave him the coin, and reason for why he wanted to marry her — Even if she’s to marry the Hero; since she’s that last thread of his mentality, his light.

Though the suicide bit is kinda a red herring. Maybe she found out after killing him, but the Hero basically captured her & locked her up then?

Explains the chapter in a way less contrive way.
